Scarlet Baxter

Artists I've Worked With

Scarlet Baxter

Role: Drummer / Programmer

I got called to work with Scarlet Baxter to be a part of her live band. After making the transition from doing acoustic sets, it was time for her to get a band around her for upcoming live shows/showcases. I liaised with Scarlet’s manager and producers to get stems for her songs and began arranging and programming the songs, working out the band’s parts and working on the structures of the songs.

To recreate the drums sounds of Scarlet’s music i needed to use a combination of electronics and acoustics so i went to my trusty Yamaha DTX which helped me integrate the electronic sounds into the songs giving the songs a live edge while still sounding authentic/”true to the record”.

About Scarlet Baxter:

Country: UK

Label: Unsigned

Genre: Pop / RnB / Soul

A London based artist with a fiercely independent streak, Scarlet Baxter who is currently gigging whenever she can where ever she can backed by her acoustic guitarist and co-writer Dominic Ireland creates a killer combination of stellar vocals and soulful guitar backing.

Scarlet is an artist with a genuine chance of breaking through having turned the heads of some the industry’s top names. Scarlet’s lead and debut single ‘Backsliding’ is a classy introduction to Scarlet’s powerful sound. Having worked on the song with producers including John McLaughlin, Jud Mahoney and Natalie DeLucia. This is music not only well written but also superbly captured by a team of industry heavyweights. ‘Backsliding’ also reached number 20 in the Dance charts thanks to the Superstylers Dance remix of ‘Backsliding’.

Scarlet is no stranger to the spotlight since winning performance contests as young as 14 years of age. Later, she went through years of intense musical theatre training to reach her dream of performing and being on stage, and, although the musical theatre is not reflected in her earthy style, she did learn the art of performance and gain confidence in her own ability and put the passion into what she really wants to do and that’s to create music and sing her heart out.

More recently, her star has continued to rise thanks to numerous support slots and also playing at prestigious venues such as Barfly, Camden. It’s little wonder her music has featured on London’s BBC Introducing with Gavin Crowley, with The Stage and Television Today also marking the talented songwriter as “One to Watch.”
