Ariana & The RoseRole: Drummer

Towards the end of 2014 I got the call to dep (stand in) for a good friend and drummer that I know, Jonny Brister and join Ariana & The Rose on the support slot of Foxes UK tour.

I did one date with Ariana & The Rose and had to prepare, as there was no rehearsal; just straight into the show. I learned the 6 song set and all of the arrangements and was able to slot in with Ariana and the rest of the band and deliver a great show with no hiccups.

I had to really get into the music for this one as there was a lot of triggering and samples that Jonny triggers and I would have to slot in and do the same. Nailing the arrangements knowing which songs were played on triggers and pads and which ones were played on the acoustic drums was imperative so that sonically, there was no major differences.

About Ariana & The Rose:

Country: USA

Label: Unsigned

Genre: Alternative / Synth-Pop

New York City-based Indie Electro Pop outfit Ariana & the Rose has gained traction globally amid her bulls-eye bounty of Pop melodies, synth-saturated beats and power-packed lyrics offering universal messages of love & affection, sexuality, acceptance and on occasion, desolation. “I describe my music as electro-synthy-dance catharsis,” Ariana DiLorenzo, the group’s front woman, offers. “Stories are my calling card, so I want people to relate to the narrative in my lyrics, but also to move to the music.”

Connecting with her audience in this way is hyper-imperative to DiLorenzo, who spent much of this past year on tour with the Hoosiers and Heffron Drive while her singles ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘In Your Bed’ climbed the US, UK and European charts, both landing comfortably in the top 5 on the Music Week charts and the latter in the top 25 on the Billboard Dance Chart.

Artfully blending the worlds of music and fashion is something of a signature for DiLorenzo, who has been invited to perform at Fashion Weeks in New York, London and Paris, the Sundance Film Festival, Miami’s Winter Music Conference, L.A.’s Whiskey A Go Go, London’s Soho House Sessions and even alongside Paul McCartney in his newest music video.
